Jinkeng Hiking Day Tour

The Jinkeng Rice Terraces Hiking Day Tour will commence by meeting our team at your Guilin Hotel lobby. The meeting time is typically 9:00 am but being a private tour, there is flexibility with start time with the possibility of starting the day earlier or later in the morning. When you complete the tour booking, please advise us your preferred start time and this can be accommodated. Visitors can also be picked up from any hotels in Yangshuo for an additional fee (+100 CNY).

After meeting the guide and driver, you’ll depart to the Jinkeng Rice Terraces, which takes approximately 2 – 2.5 x hours drive from Guilin City. If departing from Yangshuo, visitors will spend an additional hour in transit. Upon arriving at the Xiaozhai Village carpark, you’ll commence the short hike up to Dazhai Yao Ethnic Minority Village. In Xiaozhai, a Yao Ethnic minority lady will be awaiting your arrival and introduce you to the most famous aspect of their culture – long-hair!
Following the short demonstration (away from tourists like nearby touristic villages), you’ll then enjoy your lunch at a restaurant. The meal consists of a local specialty famous within this region – bamboo rice & bamboo chicken with vegetarian options also available. Once you’ve eaten lunch, the hike will commence!

From Xiaozhai Village, you’ll hike along the various rice terraces trails all the way up to Tiantouzhai Village (at the very peak of the mountains). Along the way, there will be plenty of opportunities for fantastic photos at the various scenic viewpoints. There is also the option of less hiking for those who’d prefer a less intense tour! In the late afternoon, return to Dazhai Village where the driver will be waiting with to transfer you back to your hotel in Guilin or Yangshuo to finish the tour.
