  1. 1 – Day 1

    Change Arrival at Location to Classic Guilin Day Tour

    The 2 Day Rice Terraces Exploration Tour will commence by meeting our team at your Guilin Hotel lobby. The meeting time is typically 9:00 am but being a private tour, there is flexibility with start time with the possibility of starting the day earlier or later in the morning. When you complete the tour booking, please advise us your preferred start time and this can be accommodated. Visitors can also be picked up from any hotels in Yangshuo for an additional fee (+150 CNY).

    After meeting the guide and driver, you’ll depart to the Longji Rice Terraces, which takes approximately 2 – 2.5 x hours drive from Guilin City. If departing from Yangshuo, visitors will spend an additional hour in transit. Upon arriving at the Longji Zhuang Village carpark, you’ll commence the meandering uphill walk to the Longji Zhuang Ethnic Minority Village. Featuring traditional houses and built into the side of the mountains, this village offers a fantastic insight into the Zhuang ethnic minority.

    At the village, enjoy a local specialty lunch of the region (Bamboo Chicken & Bamboo Rice) before commencing a hike to the larger Ping’an Village. The walk between the Longji Zhuang Village and Ping’an Village takes approximately 40 – 60 minutes, depending upon pace of walk and number of stops for photography!

    Once visitors arrive into Ping’a n Village, the Seven Stars with the Moon viewpoint is available to reach (at the peak of Ping’an Village) as well as the Nine Dragons & Five Tigers viewpoint (optional) for visitors interested in additional hiking. In the late afternoon, you will then return to Ping’an Village to enjoy the evening at leisure and where you will stay overnight.

  2. 2 – Day 2

    In the morning, meet your tour guide at your Ping’an Village Hotel lobby to commence the day’s activities. After further exploring the Ping’an Village Rice Terraces, you will depart Ping’an and be transferred to Dazhai Village at the Jinkeng Rice Terraces.

    From Ping’an to Dazhai it takes approximately 40 minutes to drive and whilst the exterior of the villages look relatively similar, the inhabitants are quite different! Ping’an Village is home to the Zhuang Ethnic Minority group whilst Dazhai (and all other villages at the Jinkeng Rice Terraces) is home to the Yao ethnic minority groups.

    During the afternoon, explore the Jinkeng Rice Terraces by taking a chairlift to the Golden Buddha Peak and with the option to hike around the different villages. You’ll learn about the local culture, enjoy some spectacular views from the larger Rice Terraces and get some fantastic pictures from the various Rice Terraces viewpoints. Hiking can also be customized according to preferences. At the conclusion of the day, return transfer to Guilin to conclude the tour.

  3. 3 – Day 3

    For the final day of the tour, meet the guide at your Dazhai Hotel lobby to commence the day’s activities. Firstly, you’ll hike uphill from Dazhai Village to Tiantouzhai Village, which takes between 40 – 60 minutes and offers views overlooking the Rice Terraces.

    Thereafter, continue hiking and depart Tiantouzhai with stopover at various Yao ethnic minority villages between Tiantouzhai Village and Ping’an Village. You’ll hike through terraces, hiking trails, scenic viewpoints and small villages between the different sets of Rice Terraces. In the early afternoon, arrive into Ping’an Zhuang Ethnic Minority Village for lunch (not included in tour pricing).

    After lunch, visitors have the choice to continue hiking downhill to the nearby Longji Zhuang Ethnci Minority Village (which is a quieter village away from Ping’an) or to return directly to Guilin/Yangshuo. From Ping’an Village, it takes approximately 40 minutes to hike to the Longji Zhuang Village and from both Ping’an or the Longji Zhuang Village, approximately 2.5 x hours to return to Guilin. The tour will conclude with a transfer back to your hotel, flight or train departure in Guilin or Yangshuo.
